Our team of trekking enthusiasts created this filter water bottle to carry and filter water while trekking. Soft bottle, quick-fitting cap. 1 litre.A flask that makes water drinkable by filtering clear water to remove bacteria and protozoa. Quick and easy opening with 1 hand and compressible silicon product. 180 g.
First use
Flask with built-in and removable filter. You can use the product without filter just like a traditional flask.
Before first use, rinse the bottle, top and filter with drinking water (3 x 1 minute).
When using for the first time or whenever the filter is dry, fill the bottle with water, screw on the cap and leave to stand for a few minutes to prime the filter. Then draw in 5 quick sips to enable the water to flow.
Directions for use
Rinse your bottle and the drinking water filter to remove dust and impurities.
Fill the bottle with fresh water (avoid stale and stagnant water) from the best source available without polluting the teat or cap. The more clear and clean the water is before filtering (lack of impurities) the longer your filter will last.
Be careful not to drink water that flows the length of your bottle when drinking. Make sure that the bottle is closed tightly.
Advice for use (continued)
Drink by inserting the teat into your mouth and pressing lightly on the body of the bottle to adjust the pressure and amount of water to drink.
Your bottle no longer filters water when it reaches the end of its lifespan.
If you can no longer suck the water, it is time to replace the part that contains the filter.
Thoroughly dry your filter after use.
Filtration system
We chose a micro-filtration technology with a membrane (hollow fibre) that eliminates up to 99.9999% of bacteria (eg : Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, etc.) as well as 99.9% of protozoan parasite cysts (eg: Cryptosporidium parvum, Giardia lamblia), which cause illnesses passed on through water. This greatly reduces the risk of contracting diseases such as diarrhoea, dysentery or giardiasis.
Care tips
After each use, unscrew the cap, rinse the bottle, top and filter with drinking water and allow to dry thoroughly. Before washing the bottle, remove the filter.
Do not wash the filter in the dishwasher. Do not try to clean the fibres in the plastic housing. If in doubt, change the filter.
Should you blow into the bite valve and the air passes through the filter, it is defective and must be replaced.
Storage advice
To prevent the filter from drying out, preserve it using a saline solution obtained by mixing a teaspoon of salt or baking soda with water. This will maintain the hydrophilic properties of the membrane, while preventing mould or algae from forming. Store in a cool, clean and dry place.
When reusing your filter, remove the saline solution and then rinse the filter with clean, clear water.
